Looking for riding buddies

Hi there,

I am the same guy who started the "I want to race!" thread. I think racing in Germany is not that affordable for me right now so I will have to wait a bit longer till I start this.

Meanwhile, I would like to meet new like minded people, to practice my German with, drink beer with and ofcourse go riding with. I have been here since February this year and because I am always busy with girlfriend / work and German school, that I have not made many friends so far..

To me safety comes first when I ride. At the same time, I don't mind getting the knee down around corners etc just for fun. If there are straight roads, I might pull a few wheelies if no one else is in danger and if I come up to a stopping point, I might pull a stoppie or so (after checking it is safe to do so).

I noticed so far, that most people on sports bikes are a bit older and ride a bit slower on the roads and do not like people who do wheelies or stoppies and think this is "crazy" and dangerous..

Are there people like me, who like to have a bit of fun while staying safe?

If so, I am mostly free to go for rides after 18:30 on Monday and Wednesdays and sometimes in the weekends. I live in Sacsenhausen, Frankfurt.

Cheers :-)

I just wanted to clarify that I am happy to ride with anyone and I am not only just looking for people who ride fast and do wheelies / stoppies. I just wanted to say that I want to find people who don't mind this stuff even if they can do it themselves or can't.

Cheers! :)

Hi Motoracer,

usually most of the members in this community drive only on racetracks.
The once who drive on legal roads also are very carefully and "slow" because drive on legal roads in the same way they are driving on racetracks is extremely dangerous. Therefore they don´t do it.
So if you are looking for someone who drives fast on legal roads you have to look in other forums.
Sorry buddy for bad answer, but thats the truth.

Cheers
Gruß

Yes of course. I never said any thing about riding at race track speeds on the roads. This would not be safe and simply stupid and also impossible. Hence I tried to highlight this many times how important safety is to me.. I wouldn't even be able to put down 55% of the bike's capabilities on the roads here. Especially with so many people on bicycles etc around blind cornners..

My point is misunderstood.

Nevermind then. One day I will make it to the Sieren sport races, once I can afford it.

Cheers

Hum, yeah, probably the language is the reason for some misunderstandings... ;)
Anyway, try to meet some ugly faces from this forum at the german racetracks... if your eyes are prepared for the apocalypse 8)

Hi,

Try to contact AndiGixxer he is from Frankfurt and knows a lot of the race buddys around Frankfurt. They have also a Stammtisch, that means a regular meeting to chat about bikes and drink a couple of beers.

Motoracer
you said in Australia you were racing bikes, but in Germany you can't afford it. Is bike racing in Australia that much cheaper as in Germany?

Hi nervtoeter, Thanks for the contact details. I will surely try to contact him and catch up.

Dinner - I was racing in New Zealand. In some ways it is harder to race there as there is very limited sponcership, as the population is only 4.5million.

If you are a private racer, then it is easier I guess. This is because bike prices are sooo much cheaper than here.

For example, A 2006-2007 R6 here is maybe 7000€ second hand but in New Zealand the price for these have already gone down to 4.000 - 4.200 €... A new 2009 R6 from the shop in NZ is only 6.800€... All other Japanese bikes are cheaper there in a similar way + bike parts too.

Only Ducati, BMW, Aprillia and other European bikes are more expensive than here.

P.S. I was also single and working 2 full time jobs there to pay for my racing. Now I have a relaxed life and a girlfriend so I don't have enough money left over...
